Hello, Book Nerds! Welcome back to Reading Has Ruined My Life or welcome if you are new. As always, my name is Hannah and I am your captain on this journey into my bookcases.
As excited as I am to read all the new books I received for Christmas, I am also excited to dive back into some old favorites. That’s right, it’s time for me to tell y’all what titles I will be rereading this year. I have far too many good books on my shelves and it’s just not right for them to sit there collecting dust.
No more intro, let’s crack in! Here are five books I plan on rereading at some point this year.
5. Kicking off this list is Counterfeit by Kirstin Chen. I could not read this book fast enough when I read it for the first time. Now I want to sit back and take my time with this read. Plus, knowing the final twist, I think this is a read that changes once you’ve read it once and I want to see what foreshadowing I can pick up on.
4. Next up on the list is The Lost Village by Camilla Sten. Cults are so fascinating to me. Specifically, the psychology behind how people are drawn into them. While The Lost Village is a fictional story, the psychological aspect of the story is true to life. I really want to reread this book for that part. Plus I want to see if there is any foreshadowing I missed during my initial read.
3. Coming in at number three is When the Reckoning Comes by LaTanya McQueen. Simply put, I want to reread some of the horror books I have on my shelves and I’ve only read this book once. Which was two or three years ago when I reviewed it for Murder Mystery March. Speaking of Murder Mystery March…it may be coming back this year.
2. FantasticLand by Mike Bockoven is next up at number two. This book is fantastic! It’s phenomenal! I love it! I just want to reread it.
1. Finally, at number one, we have Wicked by Gregory Maguire. A reminder that this book is not for children. I was one of those children who read Wicked way too young and was scarred for life. Anyway, since I haven’t read this book since I was in middle school, it’s high time I reread it. The Wicked film came out last year, it was phenomenal, it reminded me of just how much detail is in the book; therefore imma read the book again this year and appreciate all those little details.
Thus endeth our list! These are just some of the books I want to reread this year. I do plan on rereading Salem’s Lot come Spooky Season. I say that every year so we’ll see if that comes true this year.
With that, I must bid you all adieu. Before you go, let me know what titles you’ll be rereading this year. I shall see you all again next week with a new review. If you can’t wait that long then you can always check out my podcast Nothing to See Hear. Me and two of my besties talk everything from Scooby-Doo, haunted houses, cryptids, historical figures who did some weird shit, and so much more; there is bound to be something that strikes your fancy.
Until next time, stay safe, wash your hands, and read some good books for me.
